From the first steps to a strong reality

Tecnomec history:
Half of Century of innovation

Tecnomec journey began in 1967, when Renzo Vuillermoz and his partners acquired the Maffè e Socci mechanical workshop in Grugliasco, Turin. Two years later, they moved the company to Arnad, Aosta. The company’s first warehouse stood in the Glair Region. Five decades have seen Tecnomec grow, going through prosperous moments and difficulties, but the mission has always been clear: looking to the future, as symbolized by the company logo, two halves of an arrow pointing forward.

  • Arnad as strategic base

In the late 1960s, the Lower Aosta Valley was an economic hub, thanks to an advanced motorway network and its proximity to the international crossings of Mont Blanc and Gran San Bernardo. Tecnomec chose this strategic position, also influenced by the roots of the Vuillermoz family from Donnas, Aosta.

  • Evolution and Specialization

Tecnomec has always focused on the production of metal components. Over time, the size of the components and the reference market changed, moving from Fiat’s Piedmont hub to the European market. Diversification has led the company to work on various sectors, from household appliances, reprography to information technology.

  • Collaborations and Branches

Tecnomec expanded its activities with the creation of several branches. Cast srl was born in 1977 to supply big names such as Olivetti and IBM, while FIVITEC s.r.l. and Artech s.r.l. have focused on small stamped component and on technology, respectively. Tecnomec Sud s.r.l. then extended the company’s presence in central Italy.

The 90’s

Growth & Investments

This period marked a significant expansion for Tecnomec. The acquisition of projects such as Fiat Bravo/Brava has led to massive investments in infrastructure and technology, doubling turnover and expanding the customer portfolio with leading companies such as Fiat Auto, Volkswagen and IBM.

  • New challages for the new Millenio

The 2000s brought challenges such as offshoring and the financial crisis of 2007-2008. But with resilience and a clear vision, Tecnomec adapted, always maintaining a strong direction towards the future.
